Other names: Pterosiphonia parasitica, Symphyocladia parasitica.
Description: Erect, brownish to crimson axes to 70 mm generally with prostrate growths from which further erect axes arise. Erect axes branched in one plane, triangular or pyrimdal in outline. Alternated branched every two segments and similarly branched, usually very regularly, to 3 or 4 orders. Not corticated.
Distribution. Widely distributed on western coasts in Britain and Ireland.
