Fucus spiralis Linnaeus
Description: Spiralled Wrack, Fucus spiralis, is the uppermost species of Fucus that occurs on the shore. The frond lacks bladders (Fucus vesiculosus) and does not have a serrated edge (Fucus serratus); it is sometimes spiralled. This species has recently had another, common species segregated from it, Fucus macroguiryi. For characters to distinguish the two species, go to the description of this entity.
